SANTA FE, NM-- New Mexico Governor and Democratic Presidential candidate Bill Richardson will showcase his jobs and education policy in a speech tomorrow, Wednesday, December 12 in Sioux City, Iowa. The speech is part of a continuing effort by Governor Richardson to highlight his superior agenda and experience on the domestic front.

Richardson will draw a strong contrast between his record of action in New Mexico over the past twelve months and the failure of the Democratic Congress to enact legislation on important issues like education, health care, and the economy.

Furthermore, Richardson will sharply differentiate his positive vision for creating jobs and economic security from the meaningless bickering of his opponents in the Democratic primary.

With an emphasis on strengthening our country's foundation through a renewed commitment to education, innovation, job creation, and fiscal responsibility, Richardson will detail his plan to maintain America's position as the world's economic leader.

Since Richardson has taken office, over 80,000 more New Mexicans are working. In addition, Richardson has cut taxes and balanced the budget and raised teacher pay every year in office.

WHAT: Conversation on Education and Jobs in America
WHEN: Wednesday, December 12 at 11:30 AM (Central Time)
WHERE: Briar Cliff University, Assisi Canticle Room, St. Francis Center at the Stark Student Center, 3303 Rebecca Street, Sioux City, IA
